Need A New Daily Makeup Look?

I am no makeup artist – it’s never been my ‘thing’. I lOVE seeing all the colours all lined up on a beauty counter and always want them all to have at home together! I have learnt skills and techniques from friends, trying things out and also from the numerous videos that are online. If you don’t have time for all that but you want to learn some new skills or get out of a makeup rut perhaps you need to make time for it – book a course.

I’ve picked out some courses that looked good. They are various lengths, prices and focus on different makeup and beauty areas.

Take your pick:

Timeless Beauty Course £50

Perfecting Skin Course £375

Paint box London

Makeup Short Course £850

Hair Short Course £450

London Makeup Academy

Beauty Workshops:

HD Brow and Eyes £99

Perfect Foundation and Contouring £99

All about the eyes £99

Occasion makeup and perfect nails £99

If you’re sporty and you know it clap your hands

The last two years have seemed sports filled!

I have decided to write these sporty dates for your 2014 diary down so you can do one of these three things:

1. book a seat in the cinema to avoid such events

2. Buy some new trainers, set a new years resolution and get involved in a sport event

3. Book a holiday in which you stay at home with the curtains closed to watch every second of every event

2014 Sporting events

Grand National at Aintree

3rd-5th April

Glasgow Commonwealth Games

23rd July – 3rd August

Brazil hosts the football World Cup

12th June – 13th July

Wimbledon in London

23rd June – 6th July

The Tour de France is starting in Yorkshire

Stage 1 Sat 5th July Leeds – Harrogate

Stage 2 Sun 6th July York – Sheffield

Tour de France goes on until 27th July

Seriously…. if you don’t want to miss out on anything sporty in 2014 you may need to take a year off. I have only mentioned a few things – there are TONS of sporting events on all year round!!!

Check it all out here on the BBC website.

Now where did I put my treadmill……

Stay Low in 2014

Low Heeled shoes for 2014

If you’ve been through the sales and found nothing that takes your fancy perhaps it’s time to spend out on some new season arrivals coming into stores now. There is nothing like a new pair of shoes to refresh your enthusiasm at the start to the working week!

Wedges are a great option for wearing all day at work as they provide more support for feet and some people find them easier to walk in. If you like a mini-wedge and pointy toe shape – try these from L.K. Bennett (Pumps). This teal colour would make a nice change!

A small heel like this smart Flat pair at L.K.Bennett should last you a long time as you work up the career ladder!

If you fancy adding some colour to an outfit these are a nice pair of red Fendi flat shoes.

If you prefer to stick to classics try these MaxMara black shoes.

Nude low heels to go with any outfit during the summer try these fashionable chunky heeled FERRAGAMO Vara leather courts

Putting away the sparkle

So, the time to put away the sparkle has come round again. We’ve just packed away the decorations and I’ve popped my sparkly clothes towards the back of the wardrobe in clothing bags. I love the glitz and the sparkle around Christmas time but to start 2014 off it feels refreshing to get some clean cut minimalist clothing styles out again.

I think it might also be worthwhile getting a bit more minimalist with my ‘stuff’! De-cluttering is my on-going battle but I feel on the cusp of achieving it. It’s not my New Years resolution but something I am going to continue to dedicate time for.

I love a well designed piece of storage and this piece from A place for Everything is no exception – different trays for all the Christmas baubles (yes please!!)

Christmas Decoration Storage Box
and this box for storing everything you need to wrap presents is what I really really want!!!

Do you have any thing you want to achieve going forward? Do you manage to live in a minimalist way?

minimalism isn't just a design aesthetic. it's a way of life. - Chris Schneider
