Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore (20th Nov 2013 – 2nd March 2014) Somerset House hosts an exhibition celebrating Isabella’s life and wardrobe (I’m definitely going to this one!)
Club to Catwalk London Fashion in the 1980s (still on till 16th Feb 2014)
Fashion Rules Exhibition (till July 4th 2015) – Royal gowns on display at Kensington Palace
Alaia – Still on in Paris until 26th January 2014
The Novel of a Wardrobe – on in Paris until March 16th 2014
“Trend-ology” (Until April 30th 2014) The Museum at FIT (NYC) exhibits a range of fashion pieces offering some insight into where trends originate from.
Artist Textiles: Picasso to Warhol (31st Jan – 17th May 2014) The Fashion and Textiles Museum in London traces the history of 20th Century art in textiles. Looks like it is going to be a particularly colourful and interesting exhibit.
Elegance in the age of Crisis: Fashions of the 1930s (Feb 7th – April 19th 2014) The Museum at FIT (NYC) continues to produce interesting exhibits and I’m looking forward to this one. As always the exhibits are free which is really great in a city filled with pay to enter museums.
A Century of Fashion Photography at Conde Nast (March 1st – May 25th 2014) – The Palais Galliera Museum of Fashion: A photography exhibition with 15 couture items from the Palais Galliera collections
The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk (9th April 2014 – 17th Aug 2014) – Yay!!
The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014 (5th April – 27th July 2014) – The craftsmanship and luxurious materials should make this a lovely exhibit.
Wedding Dress 1755-2014 (3rd May 2014 – 15th March 2015) – If you are interested in bridal wear and the way key designers have treated this subject.
Charles James: Beyond Fashion – MET Museum (8th May – 10th Aug 2014) – The Costume Institute in NYC will explore the designs of the Anglo-American designer Charles James.
Horst: Photographer of Style (6th Sept 2014 – 4th Jan 2015) – A retrospective of Horst’s work (photography)
